Once organisations have committed to making changes, our consultants are able to assist them in the implementation of carefully designed programmes of change. Our collaborative style means that we tend to work very closely with our clients in delivering these services. Our consultants have provided assistance to a range of projects across many health and public sector organisations in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Examples of our experience include:
- St John – Ambulance Transformation Programme – Francis Group and its UK-based partner Lightfoot Solutions have launched an ambulance transformation programme with St John that will streamline their internal capabilities and enable them to provide more effective and efficient care. Lightfoot’s signalsfromnoise® (sfn) software is the next generation of business intelligence and is being used to measure, monitor and manage performance and highlight the root causes of issues for improvement.
- Auckland Council – Resource Consents Performance Improvement – Francis Group used their Improvement Portfolio Management Framework to identify and implement transformation and improvement initiatives to make best use of the unique opportunity created by the amalgamation of the previously separate councils and implement resource management best practice.
- Tertiary Education Commission – Combined Change Management of the Tertiary Education Sector Reform Programme – Charged by the Chief Executive to ensure the successful implementation of the organisation’s new business model – including new organisational structure and information systems – while instigating the first of a new capped funding and three-year planning process for tertiary providers from 2008, Francis Group established a combined change programme and acted as an interim member of the new Executive team of the Tertiary Education Commission.
- Counties Manukau District Health Board – Radiology Strategy and Action Plan – Francis Group developed and led a transparent strategy development process which considered the local, regional and national impacts on radiology. The process engaged a broad group of stakeholders, including public and private radiologists, and focused on implementable action planning. The resulting Radiology Strategy and Action Plan provides direction for the next five years and is expected to lead regional radiology strategy development.
- New Zealand Artificial Limb Board – Management mentoring – This Management Mentoring project followed 18 months of clinical and policy review work conducted for the NZALB in 2010. Francis Group’s consultants provided on-site mentoring for all Branch Managers across five sites, including team workshops and one-on-one support.
- New Zealand Union of Students’ Associations (NZUSA) – Governance Review – Francis Group designed and delivered a one day governance workshop, specially adapted to NZUSA’s needs and the unique aspects of their organisation. The workshop provided the NZUSA governance group with an improved understanding of governance, an improved understanding of their responsibilities and a strategic framework for their year as national student leaders.
- Counties Manukau DHB – Literacy, Language and Numeracy strategy – Francis Group worked closely with a steering group of senior managers to determine the drivers for up-skilling LLN at CMDHB, and gathered information through workshops, interviews and workplace observations with frontline staff. Francis Group then worked with the Organisational Learning and Development team to develop a range of tailored and sustainable initiatives to improve LLN under the Strategy and Action Plan with prioritised actions phased over three years.
- Capital and Coast DHB – Casemix Costing – Francis Group has worked closely with the Decision Support Unit to implement an Event Based Costing function to contribute data for the National Casemix Costing Programme for internal management information. In conjunction with this there has been a transfer charging framework for clinical services to support service line management as part of the development of a performance management framework.
