Trevor is a senior management consultant specialising in the areas of service costing, ICT and process improvement in the health and education sectors. Trevor is an Executive Director of Francis Group and leads its performance improvement practice.
For a number of years Trevor was a Director in the Health, Education and Public Sector consulting team of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Practice Leader of the clinical decision support and casemix costing service lines, responsible for sales and delivery of professional consulting services to clients in the health sector in Australia and New Zealand. A health professional by background, Trevor has had a major focus on specification development, evaluation, selection and cost benefit analysis of ICT systems and process improvement within health provider units. Particular skills include the provision of expert knowledge of financial and management reporting tools and applications, learning management systems/virtual learning systems (e.g. Blackboard, Moodle) and the use of system analysis to optimise service delivery performance. He has held teaching positions in health informatics in the Faculty of Health and Science School of Nursing at the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology.
His experience includes project management, strategy analysis and strategic performance improvement. With a focus on defining business goals, critical success factors and the subsequent reorganisation of operational activities, he has developed management initiatives that optimise performance and leverage the return on ICT investment through systematic benefits realisation and risk management.
Recently, Trevor has been involved in conducting a programme of service reviews for a mid-sized District Health Board where he was Programme Director of the Change Management Office. He is extensively involved in a major reimplementation of a patient level costing system for the provider arm of a large tertiary District Health Board.
Trevor is a member of the Hospital Advisory Committee of the Canterbury District Health Board (a statutory committee providing a governance role over the Health and Specialist Services of the Board), has served as a Board member of the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology and as a member of the National Nursing Manpower Planning Committee of the Ministry of Health.
