Amarjit has extensive experience at senior levels in local government both in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom. Her executive experience has covered a range of fields, including organisational planning, performance improvement, stakeholder engagement and project management. She is accredited in project management (PRINCE2) and holds qualifications in accounting and business management. Recently, Amarjit has provided project management expertise within the New Zealand Primary Health sector which has involved working closely with the District Health Boards and Primary Health Organisations. Amarjit also has experience within the NGO sector and has recently supported the development of a strategic business case for palliative care hospice services.
Amarjit’s background is in accountancy with a strong focus on managing and leading change. She led efficiency and effectiveness reviews of corporate services where she achieved significant savings for a local council. She understands the importance of achieving such gains without detriment to performance and by motivating and empowering staff to enhance results.
Amarjit has worked closely with trusts and companies to develop successful strategic outcomes. She has a thorough understanding of the governance framework in the public sector, and understands the legislative requirements for Statements of Intent, having helped organisations to construct clear and concise SOIs for their businesses. Amarjit is a member of the Institute of Directors.
